Stephen Hawking was an English physicist born on January 8, 1942. He is best known for his work in theoretical physics and cosmology, particularly his research on black holes and the nature of the universe. Hawking authored the bestselling book A Brief History of Time, making complex scientific concepts accessible to the public. Despite living with ALS, he became a symbol of perseverance and intellectual achievement until his passing on March 14, 2018.
