Shimon Peres was an Israeli statesman born on August 2, 1923. He served as the 9th President of Israel from 2007 to 2014 and held various other high-ranking positions throughout his political career. Peres was a key figure in the Israeli Labor Party and played a crucial role in the Oslo Accords, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994. He was known for his commitment to peace and his efforts to promote dialogue between Israel and its neighbors.
