Wole Soyinka is a Nigerian dramatist and poet born on July 13, 1934. He is known for his powerful writings that address social and political issues in Nigeria and beyond. Soyinka was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986, becoming the first African laureate. His works often explore themes of oppression, freedom, and human rights.
