Levon Helm was an American musician born on May 26, 1940. He is best known as the drummer and vocalist for the rock band The Band. Helm's unique voice and drumming style contributed to the band's distinctive sound, with hits like "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek." He was also a successful solo artist and actor, appearing in films such as The Last Waltz. Levon Helm passed away on April 19, 2012, but his music continues to influence generations of musicians.
