Tommy Douglas was a Canadian politician and clergyman born on October 20, 1904. He is best known as the premier of Saskatchewan and a key figure in the establishment of Canada's universal healthcare system. Douglas's vision for social welfare and healthcare reform has had a lasting impact on Canadian society. He is remembered as a champion of social justice and equality, earning him the title "Father of Medicare" in Canada. He passed away on February 24, 1986.
