Ismail Merchant was an Indian film producer born on December 11, 1936. He is best known for his collaborations with director James Ivory, producing critically acclaimed films like A Room with a View and Howards End. Merchant's work often focused on themes of culture and identity, and he received numerous awards for his contributions to cinema.
