Ismail Merchant was an Indian film producer born on December 11, 1936. He is best known for his collaborations with director James Ivory, producing critically acclaimed films like A Room with a View and Howards End. Merchant's work often focused on themes of culture and identity, and he received numerous awards for his contributions to cinema. He passed away on May 25, 2005, leaving a legacy of excellence in film production.
