Edgard Varese was a French-American composer known for his pioneering work in electronic music and his innovative approach to orchestration. His compositions, such as "Ionisation" and "Deserts," broke new ground in the use of unconventional sounds and structures. Varese's influence on contemporary music has been profound, and he is considered a major figure in modernist composition.
