Chuck Yeager was an American aviator and Air Force officer who became the first pilot to break the sound barrier in 1947. His achievements in aviation and his contributions to aeronautical research made him a legendary figure in the history of flight. Yeager's courage and skill as a test pilot have inspired generations of aviators and earned him numerous accolades.
