Peter Benenson was a British lawyer and human rights activist who founded Amnesty International in 1961. His efforts to address human rights abuses and advocate for prisoners of conscience worldwide have had a profound impact on global human rights advocacy. Benenson's pioneering work in establishing a global organization dedicated to defending human rights has left a lasting legacy in the fight for justice and equality.
