Julius Sterling Morton, born on August 22, 1832, was an American scientist and politician known for his advocacy of tree planting and conservation. He founded Arbor Day, a holiday dedicated to planting trees, which is celebrated in many states. Morton's efforts helped raise awareness about the importance of trees for the environment. He passed away on April 27, 1902, but his legacy continues through Arbor Day celebrations and environmental initiatives.
