Johannes Kepler was a German mathematician, astronomer, and astrologer who made foundational contributions to the scientific revolution. He is best known for his laws of planetary motion, which describe the orbits of planets around the sun. Kepler's work laid the groundwork for Isaac Newton's theory of universal gravitation and transformed the field of astronomy. In addition to his astronomical work, Kepler made significant contributions to optics and mathematics. His influence extends beyond his own time, and he is remembered as one of the key figures in the history of science.
