Claude Levi-Strauss was a French anthropologist and ethnologist who is regarded as one of the founding figures of structural anthropology. His work, including "Tristes Tropiques" and "The Savage Mind," explored the underlying structures of human cultures and myths. Levi-Strauss' theories and methodologies have had a significant impact on the social sciences and the study of human societies.
