William Bartram was an American environmentalist and naturalist born on April 23, 1739. He is known for his explorations of the southeastern United States and his detailed observations of plants and animals. Bartram's writings, including Bartram's Travels, have contributed to the understanding of American natural history and have inspired conservation efforts. His legacy continues through his influence on environmentalism.
