Thales, an ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician, is widely regarded as the first philosopher in Western history. His pioneering work in geometry and astronomy laid the foundation for much of modern science. Thales' belief that natural phenomena could be explained through rational thought, rather than mythology, marked a significant shift in human understanding. His contributions to mathematics and philosophy inspire individuals today to seek knowledge, question the unknown, and think critically about the world around them.
