Robert Greene was an English playwright born in 1558. He is best known for his works in the late 16th century, including Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay and The Historie of Orlando Furioso. Greene's plays often combined elements of comedy and drama, and he was known for his clever writing and engaging characters. He is remembered as one of the early influential figures in English theater, contributing to the development of drama during the Renaissance period.
