Ovadia Yosef was an influential Iraqi-born Israeli clergyman and rabbi, best known for his leadership of the Sephardic Jewish community and his role as the Chief Rabbi of Israel. A prominent religious scholar, Yosef's teachings and interpretations of Jewish law had a significant impact on Israeli society and Jewish communities worldwide.
