Meister Eckhart, a medieval German mystic and philosopher, challenged conventional religious orthodoxy with his radical ideas on spirituality and the nature of God. Through his sermons and writings, Eckhart explored themes of divine union and the indwelling of the divine within the human soul. Despite facing censure from ecclesiastical authorities, Eckhart's teachings continue to inspire seekers of truth and wisdom to this day.
"What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action."
"You may call God love, you may call God goodness. But the best name for God is compassion."
"A human being has so many skins inside, covering the depths of the heart. We know so many things, but we don't know ourselves! Why, thirty or forty skins or hides, as thick and hard as an ox's or bear's, cover the soul. Go into your own ground and learn to know yourself there."
