James Harrington was an English philosopher and political theorist best known for his advocacy of democracy and the separation of powers. His influential work, The Commonwealth of Oceana, challenged the traditional political order of his time and laid the foundation for later democratic principles. Harrington's contributions remind us of the importance of intellectual courage and the pursuit of justice in shaping a more equitable society.
