Francis Beaumont was an English playwright and poet of the early 17th century. He is best known for his collaborations with John Fletcher, with whom he wrote several successful plays, including "The Maid's Tragedy" and "Philaster." Beaumont's works are noted for their sophisticated language and complex characters, contributing significantly to the development of English drama during the Jacobean period.
