Claudia "Lady Bird" Johnson was the First Lady of the United States as the wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson. She was known for her advocacy of beautifying the nation's cities and highways ("Lady Bird's Bill") and her efforts to promote conservation and environmental protection. Johnson's work has left a lasting legacy in environmental policy and public service.
