Adam Weishaupt was a German philosopher and professor who founded the secret society known as the Illuminati in 1776. His ideas were influenced by Enlightenment principles, advocating for reason, secularism, and the separation of church and state. Weishaupt's organization aimed to promote progressive ideas and challenge established institutions. Though the Illuminati was short-lived, its legacy has persisted in popular culture and conspiracy theories. Weishaupt's contributions to philosophical thought and his role in founding the Illuminati continue to be subjects of fascination and study.
